Impact the Mount
Youth Mission Camp

June 18-24, 2017

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith
 and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12

Impact the Mount is a mission camp that has two main goals:
  1. to help young people make a real difference in the community of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, by improving the living conditions of people in the city
  2. to allow these young people to experience the presence of God in their lives through service, worship, fellowship, prayer, and devotional time.
We believe that God is at work in the city of Rocky Mount, and are excited to see the ways that God will use all of us to make his presence known more fully in this community. Below you will find some helpful information about the mission camp. If you have additional questions or would like to register, please use the contact form below or email us here.

Stay at North Carolina Wesleyan College
North Carolina Wesleyan is a private college that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Located centrally in Rocky Mount, you will have easy 10-minute access to work sites and local stores. Visit the website for NC Wesleyan College here.

Mission camp groups will stay in the dorms on campus, which have been recently updated and are air-conditioned! Each hallway shares one bathroom with multiple stalls and showers; however, each room also has its own sink. There are common areas that will be available for small group devotions and gatherings as well.

Service Projects in the Local Community
Each group will be assigned to a home in Rocky Mount, where you will complete tasks that involve light construction and home repair. Depending on the home, you may be painting, cleaning, doing yard work, building ramps, or laying floors. More detail about your particular work site will be available before you arrive for the camp.

Youth groups will stay together on the work sites (unless you have a large group and would prefer to work on more than one home). All tools and work supplies will be provided by the camp, with the exception of work gloves.

Worship and Group Devotions
Each evening, we will gather to worship together at NC Wesleyan. Our worship services will be led by Grafted, a praise band local to Rocky Mount, as well as a series of excellent speakers who will lead us through the week's theme.

Each person will also receive a devotion book, which will guide your group through morning and evening devotions that build on the theme we will explore in worship. These devotion books will emphasis main points and provide discussion questions to help your group dig deeper into God's message for them. More information about this summer's theme will be available once you have registered.
