Here's how we can help in response to Hurricane Florence
Pray We should all be in prayer for our neighbors in the areas devastated by Florence, as well as for the emergency response personnel who have been deployed to assist in those areas.
Emergency Response Training If you would like to receive ERT training so that you can deploy to a disaster site, we have an ERT conference trainer at Englewood UMC who would be happy to set up a class for training. Please contact the church office to get on the list for this training.
Donate to UMCOR UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), a worldwide emergency organization, has already awarded $10,000 grants to both NC and SC United Methodist Conferences to assist in the recovery efforts. Please consider making a donation to UMCOR through our church or online to contribute to the rebuilding effort. Every dollar you give will go directly to the program to which you designate.Click here to donate online.
Hygiene Kits and Cleaning Kits We will be making hygiene kits and cleaning kits for people in the affected areas. Start by bringing in items on the lists below, placing the items on the stage in the Fellowship Hall. (Please only bring in the items listed as other items cannot be used.) Once enough items are donated, we will schedule a work party to assemble the kits.
Conference-Wide Day of Response Plan to be a part of the conference-wide day of response on Wednesday September 19th. We will include more information on this event as it becomes available.
