College
Ministry

Englewood UMC is so excited to welcome college students into our church family! Being situated near North Carolina Wesleyan College and Nash Community College, we are in the perfect location for students from both schools. Whether you're seeking a place to worship, a Bible study or small group, or just a friendly community to spend time with, we are the perfect place for you!

We hope you'll visit us sometime and get to know a little more about our church family and the ways we could minister to you during your college years! Below are some of the opportunities we currently have available specifically for college students.

Sunday School

We meet for Sunday School at 9:00 on Sunday mornings. The whole church is invited to the Fellowship Hall for coffee and doughnuts, and then we depart to our separate classes. The college class mainly participates in small group studies that are discussion-based rather than teacher-led. The class members decide what they'd like to study and how the class is organized. College Bible Study Group

We are beginning a new Bible study group specifically for college students. A day of the week and time have not been set; we are waiting to see when the best time for the participants will be. We will participate in some small group studies that will allow for discussion and sharing. Some possible topics include:
  • I Wish the Bible Hadn't Said That - discussing difficult passages of scripture and how to read them faithfully
  • Half Truths - exploring popular sayings that seem to be true on the surface, but don't really present the full picture of the gospel
  • Gifted - discovering our spiritual gifts and how they might lead us toward our calling
  • Romans - What is Paul talking about, and why does it matter for me?
If you are interested in participating in this Bible study group, please fill in the form below.
