Rev. George Sidwell - Pastor Emeritus and Minister of Visitation

Rev. Sidwell was Senior Pastor of Englewood United Methodist Church for over 18 years, until his retirement in 1989. He was asked to return as Minister of Visitation in 1995, working primarily with the older members of the congregation.

Rev. Sidwell, a veteran of World War II, along with his wife, Edna Rae, was with the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries for 15 years, serving as missionaries in South Korea. He later assisted in establishing three Methodist Korean churches in the United States. He has served on numerous district and conference boards and committees, as well as a Director of the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits. He has also worked with various community organizations, such as Englewood Senior Citizens, Northmont Fish, as well as the City of Englewood.

Now a widower, he has three children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
